Please, STOP DRAWING IN THIS MANGA/ANIME STYLE THAT HAS BEEN OVERDONE TO OBLIVION. I'm sorry it needed to be said, but there are way too many artists out there who never push their own envelope, and just draw in this generic anime style (giant eyes, non existent noses, ears, mouths, and stupid looking hair that looks like it's made of cardboard) that everyone has been doing since the dawn of time. Please, please! I beg you! Do something DIFFERENT! I don't care what it is, just draw something different! There is no excuse for such a versatile and limitless platform like drawing to have such restrictions on artists in the name of "style" and just trying to be as generic as possible. And you know what, there's a reason people make this art is because they actually get FEATURED for doing something ARTISTS HAVE BEEN DOING FOREVER on here. I mean, I could make an entire journal talking about why Daily Deviations are absolutely broken and just feature the same thing over and over again, but that's for another time. My entire point is, and this goes out to all artists, TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT! I see WAY too many talented artists stick to drawing one thing (most popularly people) and never branching off of that, the most ironic thing is they say they can't do backgrounds when they never try. Draw a street, or a building, how about an animal, scenery, a farm, ANYTHING! You will never be considered a real artist if you never try doing something out of your comfort zone! And the reason I'm saying all this is because so many of these people are REALLY good artists! But there is no way I can appreciate someone's art if all they have ever drawn is people for 3-4 years straight. What's gonna pop in my messages box next, oh yay another person! hoorayy....The most depressing part of this is the fact that the people who DO vary in their work, and try new things, are completely overlooked. Nobody pays any attention to artists that by every means push the envelope, I mean just look at TwilightSoma, she has the craziest art style i've ever seen and she has 60 watchers. Why do these interesting artists that have loads of potential get completely overlooked?
tl;dr: most artists are unoriginal chums who never stem off of their own abilities and never test themselves, and the ones that do are incredibly unpopular.
